How Selene handles information
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Selene receives through Discord, the dashboard, and Selene websites, why it is used, how long it may be kept, and how you can request access or deletion.
Last updated: October 11, 2026
1. Who controls your information
Selene is operated by the Selene project team. For privacy questions, access requests, or deletion requests, contact the Selene team through the official support channel linked from the Selene website. Include your Discord user ID, server ID where relevant, and a clear description of your request. Never send passwords or authentication tokens.
2. What information we receive
We do not need the contents of private Discord conversations to provide ordinary Selene features. Do not submit sensitive personal information through commands, profile fields, embeds, playlists, or support messages.
3. How we use information
- to provide, operate, and personalize Selene features;
- to save server settings, queues, profiles, progress, collections, and preferences;
- to authenticate dashboard sessions and protect accounts and the service;
- to investigate errors, abuse, fraud, duplicate rewards, or technical incidents;
- to maintain statistics and improve reliability, where statistics can reasonably be aggregated or de-identified;
- to respond to support requests and comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal bases
Where privacy law requires a legal basis, Selene generally relies on providing the feature you requested, our legitimate interest in operating and securing the service, compliance with legal obligations, or your consent where consent is required. The appropriate basis depends on the feature, the information involved, and the law that applies to you.
6. Retention
We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed to provide a feature, maintain server configuration, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, meet legal obligations, or maintain security records. Retention differs by record type. After removal or a deletion request, some records may remain temporarily in backups, logs, fraud-prevention records, or where legally required.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, or information about processing. You may withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You can stop most feature collection by not using the relevant feature or removing Selene from a server.
To request deletion, contact the Selene team through the official support channel. We may ask for enough information to verify the request and avoid deleting another person's data. You may also have the right to contact your local data-protection authority.
8. Children
Selene is not directed at children. You must meet Discord's age requirements and the requirements of applicable law before using Discord or Selene. If you believe a child provided information unlawfully, contact the Selene team.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the service, but no online system is completely secure. Keep your Discord account protected, review dashboard sessions, and report suspected unauthorized access promptly.
10. International transfers
Selene and its providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, we will use appropriate safeguards for international transfers. Locations can change as infrastructure and providers change.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Selene, its providers, or applicable requirements change. The date at the top shows when the current version was published. Material changes will be communicated through the website or an official Selene channel where practical.
13. Contact
For privacy questions, access requests, correction requests, deletion requests, or concerns about processing, contact the Selene team through the official support channel linked from the Selene website.
