The agreement for using Selene
Terms of Service
These Terms explain the rules for using Selene, including the Discord bot, dashboard, website, commands, integrations, and related community features.
Last updated: October 11, 2026
By inviting Selene, using a Selene command, signing in to the dashboard, or using a Selene website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Selene.
1. The Selene service
Selene is an independent Discord application that can provide music playback, queues, playlists, welcome messages, automatic roles, verification prompts, reminders, leveling, XP, rank cards, profiles, achievements, coins, quests, shops, character cards, trading, games, server statistics, and customization tools.
Features can differ between servers, accounts, events, plans, and software versions. A feature may be experimental, limited, disabled, changed, or removed.
2. Eligibility and Discord
You must be allowed to use Discord under Discord's rules and the laws that apply to you. Selene is not owned, sponsored, or endorsed by Discord.
Your use of Discord remains subject to Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Privacy Policy, Developer Terms, and Developer Policy. Those rules continue to apply to your Discord account and server.
3. Acceptable use
Use Selene lawfully and responsibly. You must not:
- harass, threaten, exploit, impersonate, or target another person;
- disrupt, overload, probe, reverse engineer, or bypass access controls for Selene or its dashboard;
- use automation, exploits, or manipulated requests to generate unfair coins, cards, rankings, rewards, votes, or event results;
- submit content that infringes another person's rights or violates Discord policy;
- use Selene for fraud, scams, spam, illegal activity, or harmful software;
- misrepresent Selene as an official Discord service.
4. Server administrators
Server owners and administrators decide whether Selene belongs in their server, configure its permissions, review its settings, and explain relevant features to members. Grant only the permissions needed for enabled features.
Changes to roles, welcome settings, leveling, embeds, playlists, or economy settings may affect other members. Administrators are responsible for reviewing configuration before saving it.
5. Music, links, and third-party content
Selene may accept search terms, links, playlists, or source identifiers supplied by users. Selene does not guarantee that a source is available, accurate, uninterrupted, licensed for your use, or suitable for every audience.
You are responsible for the content you request and for following the terms of each provider. Do not use Selene to copy, retransmit, download, or distribute content in a way that violates copyright, a provider's rules, or applicable law.
6. Virtual items and progression
Coins, XP, ranks, streaks, quests, cards, titles, cosmetics, marketplace listings, event pulls, and similar items are digital features inside Selene. They have no cash value and are not redeemable for cash unless Selene explicitly says otherwise.
Selene may rebalance, reset, expire, remove, or correct virtual items to fix errors, respond to abuse, end an event, or maintain the service. Unless required by law, virtual items are not transferable outside Selene and are not refundable.
7. Accounts and dashboard access
Dashboard features may use Discord authentication. You are responsible for activity performed through your Discord account. Do not share tokens, private dashboard information, or invite links with permissions you do not intend to grant.
We may restrict access to protect Selene, communities, users, or the integrity of rewards and events. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and provide a way to contact the Selene team.
8. Availability and changes
Selene is provided on an availability basis. We may perform maintenance, change dependencies, update commands, limit traffic, pause a service, or discontinue a feature. We do not promise that every command or integration will work continuously.
We may update these Terms when Selene changes. The updated version will be posted here with a new date. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
9. Ownership and submitted content
Selene's name, original code, branding, interface, written materials, and original artwork belong to the Selene project or its licensors. These Terms grant permission to use Selene as intended, not ownership of Selene.
Content you submit remains yours, but you grant the limited permission needed to store, process, display, and transmit it to provide the feature you used. You must have the rights required to submit it.
10. Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Selene is provided without warranties of uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or compatibility.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Selene project and its operators will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from use of or inability to use Selene. Nothing here excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
